Bruce undertook his medical training at the University of New South Wales, graduating with second class honours and soon after completed his Diploma in Obstetrics. Following some time in rural practice he has been practicing at Bateau Bay Medical Centre for many years. In 2010 he completed a Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) at the University of Queensland and followed this with Diplomas in both dermoscopy and skin cancer medicine and surgery with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He has a particular interest in medical and surgical management of skin cancer and is an accredited skin cancer doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. He tries to keep a healthy mix of general practice and skin cancer medicine. Bruce is married to Kerry and has three adult children and two grandchildren.
